Effective September 30, 2025, Ohio has clarified the timing requirements for continuing education (CE) for resident and nonresident license holders.
An agent who transacts long-term care insurance must complete
**Previous language:**
4 hours of continuing education credit every 24 months beginning on January 1 of the year immediately following the year of issuance of the agent's license.
**Updated language: **
4 CE hours every license renewal period beginning with the first license renewal period following the agent's completion of the partnership training course.
**Additionally, a new rule has been added**:
An agent who fails to complete the CE requirements before the end of a license renewal period may not sell, solicit, or negotiate long-term care insurance until the CE requirements have been met.
